Bran can see the future, so arguably knows that the NK will come for him but Sam claiming that it would destroy the memory of man etc would be illogical if the NK has the same powers as the 3ER simply because he would still have those memories. It should also be considered that the only reason we know in the show that "he will come for me" and "it is to destroy the memory" etc is spoken by people that might not actually know what his intentions are. So as the big bad, he does need to be the one to take out the 3ER, as this would give him control, of the 3ER otherwise one of his minions would have that power, possibly making them a threat to the NK as they would have access to that power and be able to know the future/alter the past. He interacts with Bran during a vision, so logically he can also have visions and the same way that Bran can alter the past, logically the NK could also do so, but again it is unknown that he can.Īs the NK does not exist in the books, as far as we know anyway, any extrapolations made about the NK need to be viewed thru the lens that D&D needed a big bad that could be defeated, they needed some kind of get out of jail free card to end the threat of the Walkers, so they added the "if the one that turned them dies, they die" so from a story view alone, the NK has to actually be present at the final fight otherwise the war can not be "won" etc. It is implied that he does have the same powers, or at least an aspect of them, but it not known that he does. They mentioned the wights who fall after the WW is killed do so because that was the one that turned them. When Jon killed a random WW in S7 E6, the ones following it died (except for 1 for plot convenience so they could take it to cersei). It's said in the series a couple times that other walkers can raise the dead. He is the only one who can raise the dead and strengthen his army.I guess that could be true, but it'd be kind of lame if the big bad of the series is just a dumb animal What makes you think he is a big strategist? He might not have super intelligent IQ1.Also, this isnt the first time hes attacked he's been through this whole thing before and was defeated by mankind. Even if he doesn't though, he witnessed a man killing a WW at hardhome so he should know there's danger. He has faith in his white walker bodyguards that are at his side at all times other than when he is on a dragonįor the first 3 points, the NK is implied to have a connection with others, like some kind of hivemind so he should know there is danger.Maybe he doesnt know dragon glass can kill him.Looking forward to seeing this event at the end of HOTD on screen!įor more info see the guide and policy.
